Metamorphosis

In December I stepped into a butterfly garden, and I received this amazing lesson that God taught me.  I stepped in front of a glass case and it had hundreds of cocoons hanging out waiting for their transformation into a butterfly.  The title over the glass case was TRANSFORMATION STATION.  Another section talked about the life cycle of a butterfly being called metamorphosis.  I truly believe God in all of his wisdom and glory has so many lessons for us in his creation hidden in plain site.  I believe the body of Christ has been for a long time like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz.  We are always searching for that next thing that will bring the great awakening, and like Dorothy looking for the Wizard thinking that would be her ticket back home, we experience what the U2 song says, “We still haven’t found what we are looking for.”  This can breed frustration and become a seedbed for bitterness if we don’t have revelation of the simple Gospel.  The great news for Dorothy is that what she was seeking, she was walking in all along.  Those beautiful red shoes she was wearing.  I believe this is a prophetic picture of sons and daughters waking up to their true identity as sons and daughters of God.  We are IN CHRIST and HE IS IN US.  He is not out there holding back on us.  He is lavishing his love on us.  The great awakening is happening and it is happening in one heart at a time.  The great metamorphosis is at hand.  As a man thinks in his heart so is He. Prov 23:7

When I saw the transformation station my heart was reminded of a couple of scriptures.  “If anyone is IN CHRIST, the NEW CREATION has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” 2 Cor 5:17 There is a power packed word for NEW in the greek.  It is KAINOS and it means: recently made, fresh, unused, unworn, of a new kind, unprecedented, unheard of.  Talk about a game changer! When you repent and believe in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we are born again into a Kingdom as a NEW CREATION.  The next verse that he rocked me with was: ” Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be TRANSFORMED by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is his good, pleasing and perfect will.  Romans 12:2 The greek word for Transformed is Metamorphoo.  This means simply to change into another form or to transfigure.  This is the root of our word Metamorphosis, think Catepillar to cocoon to butterfly.  He transforms us! We are no longer dirty worms, totally depraved sinners with a sin nature, but are sons and daughters that are partakers of the divine nature (2 Peter 1:4) clothed in Jesus’ righteousness alone.  It’s time we wake up to who we really are and start soaring as butterflies in the Kingdom. We will experience this transforming reality the more we RENEW our minds with truth.  The deeper we believe truths the greater we will see manifestation in our lives.  How many lies are you believing that is keeping this transformation from being a reality?  Like Dorothy in her red shoes, we simply need to understand our true identity IN CHRIST and this will make all the difference in the world!  Stay tuned for much more in the future! The Gospel is such good news!!
