What is a FIRESTARTER?

A reformation is at hand in the body of Christ.  Religion has held God’s children in bondage and has given them a false image of who they really are.  Sons and daughters are being awakened into their true identity and they are understanding the true Gospel for the first time.  They are lighting fires everywhere they go and bringing freedom to those still in shackles and chains.  So what exactly is a FIRESTARTER?

A Firestarter is a son or daughter of God that carry the fire of the love of Jesus and bring the transforming power of the Kingdom of God to their spheres of influence.  They love the hell out of people.  Listed below are some of the belief systems that firestarters embrace that serve as roots that give life to healthy fruit.  These are some of the core values of a Firestarter:

  • Freedom is a lifestyle and Jesus paid the price for us to walk in it.  We live in freedom and are passionate about seeing others set free. (John 8:32)
  • We believe that the old Adam sin nature was crucified and buried with Christ and we were resurrected IN CHRIST as a NEW CREATION.  THIS IS OUR IDENTITY.  We are sons and daughters and partakers of the divine nature. We are clothed in HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS.  We are no longer sinners but are saints.  We are royal sons and daughters.  Jesus is the way the truth and the life and no one comes to the father except through Him. (Romans 6:4, 6:6-7, 6:18 Romans 8:15,17, 2 Cor 5:17,21, 2 Peter 1:4, Gal 2:20)
  • The cross and Jesus’ death showed that our value to God was priceless since He chose to bankrupt Heaven to buy us back from the kingdom of darkness. Because of our value to the Father we honor him with our lives with absolute gratitude. Eternal life is knowing God and Jesus Christ He has sent. (John 17:3, John 3:16)
  • We are in Jesus and He is In us. There is no separation! He is closer than our breath and our skin. We are surrounded by love! (John 14:20, John 17:23)
  • We are His apprentices and He is changing us to be like Him. We say yes to a life of training! Spiritual disciplines do not change us in and of themselves. They only make a space for encountering God, and that is what changes us. (Luke 6:40, Romans 12:1-2)
  • We love God’s word and believe it is inspired by God and is essential to our spiritual growth.  We are hungry for it and read it through the lens of a new creation in a new covenant as sons and daughters of a loving Father.  We don’t spend time in the word out of religious obligation but out of our desire to encounter Jesus through its pages. The Word is living! (John 6:63, 2 Tim 3:16)
  • We believe in walking in Purity and in the process of sanctification which is simply growing in His Grace.  This is impossible without humbling ourselves. (1 Tim 4:12, James 4:6)
  • Grace is God’s empowering presence in us that gives us the POWER to become who He sees when He looks at us. (Phil 2:13, Titus 2:11-14)
  • We walk in Authenticity by allowing the Fire of Jesus’ love to burn the mask of hypocrisy in our lives.  We leave the double life and the imposter in us dies. God’s authority and anointing flows through authenticity. (Eph 4:22-24)
  • We live naturally supernatural and see the gifts of Holy spirit flow naturally through our lives as we serve others. (1 Cor 14:1)
  • We love each other by laying our lives down for each other and putting others first. (Rom 12:10)
  • Character is bedrock to our witness and we cultivate the fruit of holy spirit in our lives.  Fruit is produced through our intimacy with Him and our obedience. (Gal 5:22-23)
  • We know that the Father is absolutely Good and Jesus clearly showed us this! (Romans 2:4, Heb 1:3)
  • We have a spirit of excellence and work on  developing our gifts as a master craftsman.  We use these gifts to bless others and bring glory to God.  We become so good that we can’t be ignored.  Our influence and favor is used to advance the kingdom of God like Daniel and Joseph. (Rom 12:6-8, Daniel 6:3)
  • We allow perfect love to cast out all fear and choose COURAGE daily.  We love unconditionally with no agenda. (1 John 4:18, Joshua 1:9)
  • We believe in a victorious future of advancing the kingdom of God.  We only focus on the devil to pull the trigger.  The enemy is a defeated foe. We are more than conquerors. (Rom 8:37, Mark 16:15, Heb 2:14, Matt 13:31-32)
  • We pray bold prayers and expect to see Heaven invade earth. (Matt 6:10)
  • We enjoy the process of growing roots and are filled with joy because we know how  deeply we are loved. (Luke 8:8, Eph 3:17)
  • Our walk with Jesus is not a burden but the greatest adventure we could ever have. (Matt 11:28-30, Matt 28:18-20)

Firestarters are answering the call by one big YES to Jesus.  They are filled with kingdom purpose and power.  They know who they are and whose they are.  The great reformation is at hand.  They are no longer slaves to sin but righteous sons and daughters of God.  The best days of the Kingdom are in front of us!
